LSD

   -No accepted medical use, high potential for abuse.

  • Available in at least retail quantities in virtually every state in the U.S.
  • On the increase in Ohio, mostly among the high school to university age groups.
  • Sold in several forms to include: liquid, gelatin, paper, sugar cubes, and Sweet-tarts. (Can be put on anything that will absorb)
  • Taken orally, effects last up to 8 or 10 hours.
  • Inexpensive, unit dose cost $3.00 to $5.00.
  • Generally the liquid is manufactured by chemists in the San Francisco area.

     

 

Ketamine

   -Schedule I
   -No accepted medical use, high potential for abuse.

  • PCP or LSD like effect but better to user because effects last an hour or less.
  • Dissociate:  user feels that the mind and body are seperated.
  • Main source is diverted legitimate product. Indication of a problem is an increase of veterinary clinic burglaries.
  • Usual methods of abuse:
       - Snorting                     effect 5-15 mins        lasts 45-60 mins
       - Drinking                      effect 5-30 mins        lasts 1-2 hours
       - Injecting                     effect 1-5 mins         lasts 30-45 mins
       - Smoking
